Cleaning & Prevention
Keeping a regular preventative maintenance schedule helps you prevent not only periodontal disease and tooth decay, but it also avoids costly procedures and more time in the dental chair.
Deep Cleaning (SRP)
Scaling and root planing is commonly referred to as a deep dental cleaning and one that your dentist will recommend if you are a candidate for. This deep dental cleaning is often for patients who have periodontal or gum diseases and provides a more in depth cleaning than a normal dental cleaning.
Whitening
People have their teeth whitened on a regular basis so that they can look and feel great. As people age, it is common for teeth to become dull and yellow. This is in part due to age itself and also due to what a person eats and drinks. Drinking coffee, tea and wine, for example, can stain your teeth. We offer an in office ZOOM teeth whitening procedure that will provide optimal results with just one session.
Invisalign
Invisalign is the most invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces, using a series of clear, removable appliances or aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. You wear each set of clear aligners for at least two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next set in the series, your teeth move incrementally, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position Dr. Melo has prescribed.
Crowns
A crown, which is also known as a cap, is made to restore a tooth to its normal shape and size. It is recommended to cover and support a tooth with a large filling. Crowns work to strengthen the tooth while protecting the existing structure, providing a longer life for the tooth in comparison to another restoration or filling.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal is a treatment to repair and save a badly damaged or infected tooth instead of removing it. Underneath your tooth's outer enamel and within the dentin is an area of soft tissue called the pulp, which carries the tooth's nerves, veins, arteries and lymph vessels. Root canals are very small, thin divisions that branch off from the top pulp chamber down to the tip of the root. A tooth has at least one but no more than four root canals.
Veneers
With veneers, you can easily correct your teeth's imperfections to help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are slim, custom-crafted porcelain restorations that can bond to your front teeth. This procedure can whiten, reshape, and lengthen your teeth, giving you a lifelong attractive smile that you’ll love.
Fillings
Dental fillings are used by a dentist to “fill” space from a cavity after treatment. To treat a cavity, the dentist will drill around the damaged area of your tooth to remove all the decay. This area will then be “filled” with the dental filling amalgam (silver fillings). or composite (tooth colored filling) material.
Implants
Implants are titanium inserts that become Incorporated into your jaw bones, which then can have crowns, bridges and connections attached to replace one, a few, or all your missing teeth. Implants can provide you with outstanding aesthetic, functional, and long term results. Implants may be a good solution if you are looking to replace missing teeth, or loose dentures.
Bone Grafting
In some instances, you may be lacking in bone, gum or both. Once a tooth has been lost, the gum and underlying bone reduces in volume and height. In some of these cases, you may need bone augmentation (grafting) or soft tissue or gum augmentation (grafting).
